I couldn't remember what I had and hadn't done, and my memories of that time to this day are jumbled and constantly changing.\n\nThis poem is about that time. I wrote it in four versions, each with the same number of lines and stanzas, representing four (relatively arbitrary) collections of memories. When it's displayed on the screen the stanzas are selected in turn at random from each of the poems, so in one version you might have stanza 1 from poem 3, stanza 2 from poem 1... and another version might comprise stanza 1 from poem 2, stanza 2 from poem 3...\n\nAs there are 6 stanzas and 4 poems, there are 4<sup>6</sup> = 4096 versions of this poem in total.\n\nThe title, Many Worlds, refers to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, which asserts that all possible alternative outcomes of quantum measurements (and probably therefore all possible actions/events at the macro level) occur, with new worlds/universes branching off for every possible outcome and continuing to exist thereafter.\n\n </div>\n <div style="flex:5%;">\n </div>\n <div style="flex:40%;">\n </div>\n</div>
